The Tour de France 2025 is set to deliver a thrilling spectacle as Stage 12 unfolds on July 17, with the live broadcast available on the Sportschau platform. This crucial high-mountain stage, covering 180.6 km from Auch to Hautacam, marks the first Pyrenean test of the race.

The stage features four categorised climbs, including the Col du Soulor and Col de Borderes, which will test the endurance and climbing strength of the riders. The Col du Soulor, a Category 1 climb, is particularly challenging as it is tackled back-to-back with the Col de Borderes, ramping up tension before the final climb.

The final climb is the renowned hors-catégorie (HC) ascent to Hautacam, a 13.6-kilometer climb with an average gradient of 7.8%, peaking at 11% in places. This climb has a rich recent history in the Tour; Jonas Vingegaard took a key stage win here in 2022 en route to his overall victory, making it a decisive battleground for general classification contenders.

The stage is expected to ignite major GC action on the Hautacam climb, with potential time gaps and fireworks among top favourites like Jonas Vingegaard and Tadej Pogačar. Hautacam has been a pivotal climb where teams have fiercely contested for supremacy.

Riders will collectively face approximately 3,850 meters of elevation gain across the stage, with the most demanding challenges clustered in the latter part of the day. Bonus seconds (10, 6, and 4) will be awarded to the first three riders to finish, adding tactical incentives to the climbers’ fight atop Hautacam.

The initial part of Stage 12 (approximately 130 kilometers) allows for warm-up and tactical preparations. Following the Col du Soulor, the Col de Borderes is climbed. Around 50 kilometers from the finish, the Col du Soulor with the ascent via Ferrières is encountered.

The live broadcast of Stage 12 offers viewers an opportunity to watch the Tour de France 2025 in real-time, witnessing the challenging mountain stage in the Pyrenees. Tune in to Sportschau to follow the progress of Tadej Pogacar, Jonas Vingegaard, and their team in the race.
