Here's an inside scoop on what the weather might look like during this holiday period, courtesy of the German Weather Service (DWD):

Friday, June 20:Across Baden-Württemberg, skies will be mostly sunny, with temperatures varying from 22°C in the Hotzenwald to a scorching 31°C along the Rhine. A moderate northeast wind could bring cool gusts, but overall, the heat will be pleasant, especially in the mountains where the maximum temperature will be 25°C, and along the Rhine, as hot as 31°C.

The night into Saturday should be clear, with light cloud cover and temperatures ranging from a cool 9°C in the Tauber and Ostalb regions to a chilly 17°C along the Rhine, perfect for a relaxing night after a day of fun-filled activities.

Saturday, June 21:Although cirrus clouds may obscure the sky in the early morning and until midday, the skies are expected to clear up, giving way to widespread sunshine. Temperatures could reach up to 26°C in the higher mountains and a sweltering 33°C along the Upper Rhine. Prepare for a refreshment now and then as a light to moderate east wind could provide some relief from the heat.

The night into Sunday will be clear, with temperatures dropping to a balmy 18°C and a brisk 9°C in some areas.

Sunday, June 22:The heatwave will reach its peak on this day, with skies being clear and temperatures soaring. In the mountains, prepare for temperatures up to 30°C while the mercury rises up to 36°C to 37°C along the Rhine, Neckar, and in the Kraichgau. Don't forget your sunscreen!

The night into Monday will see clouds moving in from the northwest, bringing showers, thunderstorms, and even gusty winds. Temperatures will stay warm, around 22°C near Freiburg, and slightly cooler, around 14°C, near the Danube.

Looking Ahead:Based on the DWD's ensemble forecast for Stuttgart-Echterdingen, we can expect the warm, mostly dry weather to continue through June 25. Daytime temperatures will hover between 25°C and 30°C, with increased model variability towards the end of the forecast period, indicating some uncertainty. However, it seems an early summer weather pattern is likely to prevail.

Nights will remain relatively mild, although precipitation might become more frequent from Monday, June 23, particularly through June 25. As always, stay tuned for updates!
