Weinstein Trial's next steps: Timeline and Outcome Predictions - Current Updates on Weinstein Court Proceedings

The jury in the retrial of Harvey Weinstein (73), the fallen film magnate, is poised to start deliberations. Charges of rape and other crimes are swirling around Weinstein in a New York court. The jury, composed of seven ladies and five fellas, is at the ready. On Tuesday, the defense wound up its case.

The prosecution will present its closing remarks on Wednesday, following which the jury will start its task of deciding Weinstein's guilt. Three ladies have made their distressing testimonies against Weinstein, who staunchly denies any wrongdoing.

Prison Whispers

Reports abounded that he sought to testify himself, but his lawyers deemed it too risky. Nevertheless, Weinstein decided to chat with conservative podcast queen Candace Owens (36) from behind bars, claiming that his dealings with the fairer sex were mutual.

In his final argument, Weinstein's lawyer Arthur Aidala reportedly fed the jury an intriguing anecdote. He suggested that the ladies are fabricating their accusations for monetary gain and to rekindle their dashing Hollywood dreams. "These are all women having shattered aspirations," he supposedly said.

Nicole Blumberg from the prosecution retaliated, as reported by "Deadline", that it was Weinstein who left his victims shattered, destroying their dreams of a glittering life in the film sector through rapes. The ex-ental captain of Hollywood, according to Blumberg, used his influence "to isolate women, entice them to locations where he could be alone with them, and rape them."

Weinstein's West Coast Tangle

If found guilty on any count, Weinstein could spend the rest of his golden years in prison. The retrial in New York was ordered after a court overturned his 2020 conviction due to procedural glitches. Weinstein's still cooling his heels in New York, but he also nabbed a 16-year sentence in California. He's planning to contest that verdict.
