In a recent turn of events, K1 De Ultimate, a renowned Fuji music icon, has tendered an apology for an incident that occurred at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on August 5, 2025. The musician was reportedly involved in a disruption that led to the blocking of a ValueJet flight and a breach of aviation safety protocols.

According to the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), K1 De Ultimate allegedly refused to comply with security regulations, including surrendering a flask suspected to contain alcohol. As a result, the NCAA sought criminal prosecution, initially imposing a six-month no-fly ban on the musician, which was later reduced to one month. Two ValueJet pilots involved in the incident were suspended for breaching safety protocols.

In his apology, K1 De Ultimate claimed that the flask was empty during two separate security checks and was only filled with water at the airport lounge before he proceeded to the tarmac. The apology was tendered in a statement signed personally by the musician on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced another increase in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) across its retail outlets nationwide. The new price stands at ₦945 per litre, marking the second upward adjustment in just four days. This adjustment follows the Dangote Refinery's decision to raise its ex-depot price from ₦820 to ₦850 per litre.

In a separate development, the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Special Intervention Squad, CP Abayomi Shogunle, explained the circumstances surrounding the continued detention of activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore. Sowore was released on Friday night, as announced via his verified social media handles.

Lastly, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has admitted to marking errors in the serialised objective questions in the recently released West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) 2025 results. The review showed that 1,239,884 candidates, representing 62.9% of the candidates, obtained Credits and above in at least five subjects.
