Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition Competition #38 Now Live on Nintendo Switch Online
Nintendo Switch Online members can now join Competition #38 of the Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition, a retro-style event themed around classic NES games. The competition runs from now until April 7, 2023, at 1:59 a.m. Pacific Time.
This competition includes moments from 13 classic NES games, offering more than 150 challenging moments for players to conquer. Participants can compete against players worldwide in the online competition, or challenge their friends locally.
The competition tests players' speedrunning skills across various challenges, including Hammer Bro KO (Super Mario Bros. 3), Sub-Space Exploration (Super Mario Bros. 2), Heating Up (Excitebike), Jumping Jacks (Donkey Kong), and Monochrome Hero (Kirby's Adventure). Players can also watch replays of the top runs for each challenge, which may provide tips for improving their own times.
Competition can be done online, locally, or against personal bests. To access online features, a Nintendo Switch Online membership and Nintendo Account are required. Membership for Nintendo Switch Online auto-renews unless canceled.
