Current Event: Nintendo World Championships NES Edition Competition is Underway
Announcing the Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition Competition #37 on Nintendo Switch Online
Get ready for an exciting challenge as Nintendo Switch Online brings back the classic Nintendo World Championships with the NES Edition! This competition, available now until March 31st at 1:59 a.m. PT, invites Nintendo Switch Online members to test their skills against other players worldwide.
The competition features three iconic NES games: A-Type Tetris, Super Mario Bros., and Rad Racer. Your goal is to maximize your combined scores across these games, with Tetris scores multiplied by 25 in the final tally. This strategic format encourages players to rush through Super Mario Bros. and Rad Racer to spend more time in Tetris and earn higher points.
In addition to these three games, the competition also includes six challenges from other classic NES games. These challenges are Lookie, Tanooki! (Super Mario Bros. 3), Fairy Finder (Zelda II: The Adventure of Link), Harp on It (Kid Icarus), Take Heart (The Legend of Zelda), and Eye in the Sky (Kirby's Adventure).
To participate, you'll need a Nintendo Account and a Nintendo Switch Online membership, which auto-renews after the initial term unless canceled. Internet access is required for online features. Please note that the competition is not available in all countries.
Once you've completed the competition, you can check your overall placement and rank against other players in your birth year. Replays of the top runs for each challenge will be available for viewing, providing valuable insights to help you improve your own times.
