Current Event: Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition Competition 40 is now live
The Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition Speedrun Competition #40 is now available for Nintendo Switch Online members. This exciting event offers five challenging stages from iconic Nintendo games, providing an opportunity for players to test their skills and compete against others online.
Participants must have a Nintendo Switch with a Nintendo Switch Online membership, access to the competition via the Nintendo Online app or game, and comply with specific event rules regarding game modes, time limits, and stages. To participate, players need a Nintendo Switch Online membership (sold separately) and a Nintendo Account. Internet access is required for online features. The competition runs from the current date until 4/21 at 1:59 a.m. PT.
The five challenges include Power Grab (Metroid™), Cool It (Excitebike™), Hit the Bricks (Super Mario Bros.™), 1-1 of a Kind (Super Mario Bros. 3™), and Whale of a Time (Super Mario Bros. 2™). Replays of the top runs for each challenge can be found within the game.
Players can compete against others online, challenge friends locally, or improve their personal bests. The competition results, including individual placements and rankings against players in your birth year, can be checked in the game.
Additional accessories may be required for multiplayer mode (sold separately). The game is not available in all countries. It features more than 150 challenging moments from 13 classic NES™ games, but NES games are not included in their entirety in the game.
