The Russian Pacific Fleet has announced that it will conduct joint military exercises with China in the Sea of Japan, near Vladivostok. Meanwhile, in a separate development, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla has accused anti-Cuban politicians, particularly in the United States, of engaging in hostile and politically motivated actions against Cuba.

Rodríguez Parrilla has condemned U.S. sanctions imposed on Cuba's president and government as an attempt by the U.S. to pressure or undermine the Cuban people and its leadership. He portrays such measures as part of ongoing U.S. efforts rooted in historical antagonism towards Cuba.

Beyond recent sanctions, Cuban officials including Rodríguez have characterized U.S. policies—such as Cuba’s re-designation as a state sponsor of terrorism during the Trump administration—as politically opportunistic moves aimed at destabilizing Cuba and rewarding certain U.S. political constituencies. These accusations frame anti-Cuban politicians as using measures that harm Cuba under the guise of human rights or security concerns, but actually serve domestic U.S. political agendas.

Rodríguez Parrilla has also publicly supported Cuba’s international positions against what he sees as imperialist and anti-socialist forces, aligning Cuba with leftist, anti-U.S. groups across Latin America and beyond.

In a different context, 118 irregular migrants returned to Cuba from the US this Thursday, marking the seventh return operation by this means from US territory this year. The return was in accordance with bilateral migration agreements between Cuba and the US. Among the returning migrants, 96 men and 22 women were present.

In another development, Argentine scientists have developed a rapid and low-cost test called FluoTB for diagnosing tuberculosis. The test analyzes samples without the need for culture to detect the disease. This test is considered a promising tool for the pharmaceutical industry in the rapid evaluation of new anti-tuberculosis drugs.

Lastly, the joint exercises named Maritime Interaction 2025 will take place at a Pacific Fleet training ground. The exercises will include land training, anti-submarine warfare, air defense, search and rescue, and artillery exercises. The Russian Pacific Fleet did not provide further details about the exercises.

The U.S. sanctions imposed on Cuba's president and government, as well as the re-designation of Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism, have been characterized by Cuban officials, including Rodríguez Parrilla, as politically motivated moves aimed at undermining the Cuban leadership and being part of ongoing efforts rooted in historical antagonism towards Cuba. In the realm of global politics, Rodríguez Parrilla has also been vocal in support of Cuba's international positions against what he perceives as imperialist and anti-socialist forces.
