In Asunción, Paraguay, the II Pan American Junior Games are underway, and Cuba is making a strong showing. The competitive program of the games will last until day 24, and so far, Cuba has won a total of four gold medals, two silver, and four bronze medals across multiple sports.

One of the bronze medals was won by a team of eight young rowers from Cuba, led by captain Roberto Carlos Paz from Cienfuegos. This is the second bronze medal for Cuba in the history of the Pan American Junior Games, and it was a hard-fought victory.

The Cuban rowing team's time in the race was very close to that of Brazil, with the Brazilian team finishing the race with a slightly faster time of 5:45.75 minutes. Despite this, the Cuban team managed to secure a bronze medal, demonstrating their determination and skill.

Roberto Carlos Paz, the captain of the team, expressed his happiness about winning the bronze medal and contributing to Cuba's success in the games. He also had the honour of parading with the national flag during the inaugural ceremony of the games.

The bronze medal won by the Cuban rowing team is part of Cuba's medal tally in the games, which currently places them ninth in the medal standings. Other notable medal wins for Cuba include a gold in the long jump (Aniel Molina) and record-setting performances by Jocelyn Echazábal in hurdles in the athletics competition.

The Cuban rowing team's time in the race was also very close to the winning time of Chile, with the Chilean team winning the race with a time of 5:42.26 minutes. Despite this, the Cuban team's performance was impressive, and they can be proud of their achievement.

The II Pan American Junior Games are a sports festival, and Cuba is certainly making the most of the opportunity to compete against the best young athletes from across the Americas. With more competitions in wrestling, athletics, canoeing, and weightlifting still to come, there is still plenty of time for Cuba to add to their medal tally.
