Cruzeiro and Corinthians Set for Clash in Copa do Brasil and A1 Quarter-Finals

Cruzeiro is gearing up for a busy August, with two significant matches on the horizon. On August 10, they will face Red Bull Bragantino in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Brazilian A1 at the Canindé stadium at 10:30 AM. Just four days later, on August 6, Cruzeiro will take on Corinthians in the Copa do Brasil at 4:30 PM.

While the focus is on the men's teams, it's worth noting the success of Cruzeiro's women's team, Vingadoras. In 2025, they averaged 760 spectators per game, a significant improvement from the 534 fans who attended all four home games combined at the start of the season.

However, when it comes to actual attendance at women's football games in the Brazilian Championship, Corinthians significantly outperforms Cruzeiro. Corinthians holds four of the five largest attendances in the history of Brazilian women's soccer, including a record attendance of over 44,000 fans at Neo Química Arena in 2023.

In contrast, Cruzeiro's women's team had 2,906 spectators at their first home game at the Arena MRV in 2022, setting a record for the team. Nevertheless, Cruzeiro's women's team is currently leading the Brazilian Women's Serie A1, closely behind Corinthians in the standings.

Meanwhile, Cruzeiro's men's team is currently leading the Brazilian A1, having secured promotion from the A2 the previous year. Notably, Corinthians sold the most tickets among the 16 participating clubs in the current Campeonato Brasileiro A1, with 48,872 tickets sold.

Elsewhere, America is preparing for the quarter-finals of the Brazilian A1, having finished the qualifying stage in 9th place, one point short of securing a spot. In their debut season in the Brazilian A1, America's average attendance was similar to this season, with 219 spectators per game.

America's women's team, on the other hand, finished the qualifying stage in 10th place in the Brazilian Women's Serie A1. They brought in 1,208 people in their six home games in the current season, averaging 201 spectators per game.

In other news, Cruzeiro's women's team secured promotion from the Brazilian A2, the women's second division, and are aiming for the title to cap off their impressive campaign.
