Cruz Azul switches home venue to Estadio Cuauhtémoc for Clausura 2026
Cruz Azul has confirmed a change of home venue for the Clausura 2026 tournament. The club will play its matches at Estadio Cuauhtémoc, the usual ground for Puebla FC. Liga MX approved the request under its competition rules.
The move follows an official application by Cruz Azul, granted under Article 40 of Liga MX’s Competition Regulations. Eight of the team’s home fixtures will now take place at Estadio Cuauhtémoc instead of their traditional stadium.
One confirmed fixture is the Week 2 clash against Atlas. Originally scheduled for another date, it has been rescheduled to Wednesday, 14 January, with a 5:00 PM kick-off at the new venue.
At present, no full schedule for the Clausura 2026 has been published. This means other potential home matches, including future games against Atlas, remain undated for now.
The venue shift marks a temporary change for Cruz Azul during the upcoming tournament. Fans will see the team play at Estadio Cuauhtémoc for at least eight fixtures, beginning with the midweek match against Atlas. Further details on additional home games will depend on the league’s finalised schedule.
