Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2024 Shatters Records with 73M Fan Votes Globally

The 10th Crunchyroll Anime Awards celebrated its biggest event yet with record-breaking fan engagement. Over 73 million votes poured in from around the world, making this year’s ceremony one of the most widely followed. Hosts Sally Amaki and Jon Kabira led the evening, which also featured a special appearance by The Weeknd as a guest presenter. The awards ceremony honoured standout titles and creators, with My Hero Academia: Final Season taking home the top prize for Anime of the Year. Fans from Brazil, Germany, India, Mexico, and the United States showed the highest levels of participation, reflecting the event’s global reach.

Director Tatsuya Nagamine was recognised with the Global Impact Award, though he was not present in person. Instead, Masayuki Sato accepted the honour on his behalf.

Crunchyroll confirmed that the full ceremony will be available to stream on its platform and official YouTube channels, allowing fans worldwide to relive the highlights.
