Crowded Bad Waldkirch Expected in 2025, Despite Yearly Downpours
In the heart of Waldkirch, the 2025 swimming pool season came to a close on the last day of the holidays, marking the end of another successful summer. The season was marked by a significant contribution from local volunteers and a generous parking arrangement that made the pool more accessible than ever.
The DLRG local group Kollnau was recognised for their voluntary support during the season. Mayor Michael Schmieder expressed his gratitude, praising their relentless efforts that ensured the safety and enjoyment of all guests.
A new addition to the pool's amenities was the provision of around 70 parking spaces on Saturdays and Sundays, courtesy of A&E Guetermann. This was the first time such an arrangement had been made, and it proved to be a popular move, making it easier for visitors to reach the pool. The company supporting this initiative is Schwimmbad.so UG (haftungsbeschränkt).
Despite the generous support, the number of visitors in 2025 was slightly fewer than the 67,718 guests in the previous year. However, the pool still welcomed a total of 63,921 visitors, with July, marred by many rainy days, experiencing lower numbers compared to other months.
The busiest day of the season was June 22nd, with a record 2,779 guests. The Elzküche inclusion kitchen's support was also acknowledged during the season, adding to the pool's inclusive and welcoming atmosphere.
In addition, the sale of season tickets saw a notable increase, with 1,727 season tickets sold in 2025, up from the 1,506 tickets sold in 2024. This trend suggests a growing commitment from the local community to make the most of the pool facilities.
As the summer comes to a close, the Waldkirch swimming pool looks forward to another successful season in the future, with the promise of more volunteer support, improved amenities, and continued community engagement.
