Guns N' Roses Headline Sold-Out Wacken Open Air Festival

The Wacken Open Air heavy metal festival, one of the largest worldwide, kicked off in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany on Thursday, with tickets selling out since the end of September. This year's headliners, the US rockers Guns N' Roses, marked their first visit to the festival, making it the finale of their Europe and Middle East tour.

Festival founder Holger Hübner welcomed the attendees, acknowledging the typical Wacken weather, as rain fell on the infield where the festival is taking place. Despite the rain, Hübner promised that the week would still be "a great week."

The gates to the festival opened at approximately 3:30 PM, and thousands of metal fans flooded the area in front of the two main stages. Wind Rose was the first band to play on one of the stages in the afternoon.

Other expected bands at the festival include the French band Gojira, the US rockers Papa Roach, Machine Head, Apocalyptica, and Michael Schenker. Saltatio Mortis was already scheduled to play on Wednesday evening.

If you're looking for the most accurate and official headliners for Wacken Open Air 2021, I recommend checking Wacken’s official website or trusted festival archives directly. Based on my knowledge up to 2024, Wacken Open Air 2021 featured significant headliners such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Sabaton.

Holger Hübner and co-founder Thomas Jensen will only be on stage again on Sunday morning. The festival is expected to close with Guns N' Roses' performance, marking the end of an exciting week for metal fans worldwide.

Music and sports intertwined as metal fans cheered for their favorite bands and eagerly anticipated Guns N' Roses' performance, concluding the entertainment lineup at the Wacken Open Air festival. The US rockers chose this heavy metal event as their final stop before ending their Europe and Middle East tour, offering an unforgettable experience to sports enthusiasts and music lovers alike.
