Pop superstar Taylor Swift made history on Thursday, as her appearance on the podcast "New Heights" set a new record for concurrent live viewers on YouTube during the first hour of the episode.
According to reports, Swift's debut on the podcast, hosted by Travis Kelce (35) and his brother Jason Kelce (37), attracted 1.3 million viewers on YouTube alone. This broke the previous record held by Donald Trump's appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, which had 800,000 viewers in its first hour.
The episode, which lasted about 1 hour and 45 minutes, featured Swift announcing her 12th studio album The Life of a Showgirl, along with discussion about her music career and recent acquisition of master recordings for her first six albums. The live stream was so popular that it overwhelmed YouTube and cut to black after about 1 hour and 44 minutes, later resuming.
The episode quickly racked up nearly 15 million total views within two days after the live premiere, marking the biggest audience ever for a podcast livestream on YouTube since the platform launched podcast streaming.

In addition, Swift discussed her relationship with a football star during the podcast. The view counts on podcast platforms like Spotify are not yet included in the 15 million views on YouTube.
Jason Kelce's wife, Kylie Kelce (33), had a guest appearance on the podcast and attracted 8.9 million viewers on YouTube alone. The previous record for "New Heights" was set by an episode that also featured a female guest.
The new album The Life of a Showgirl is set to be released on October 3rd of this year. Swift, aged 35, set a new viewing record for the podcast "New Heights" with her appearance.
