Critics Choice Honours AAPI Talent: Zhao, Liu, HIKARI & More
The Critics Choice Association's 4th annual Celebration of AAPI Cinema & Television is set to honour several outstanding individuals and films. The event, taking place on November 14, 2025, in Beverly Hills, will recognise achievements in various categories.
Chloé Zhao will receive the Vanguard Award for her film 'Hamnet'. Lucy Liu has been chosen for the Trailblazer Award. HIKARI, the director of 'Rental Family' by Searchlight Pictures, will accept the Director Award. Thomas Pa'a Sibbett is honoured with the Social Impact Award. Maggie Kang's 'KPop Demon Hunters' has been recognised with the Animation Award. Michelle K. Sugihara will receive the Industry Leadership Award. 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle' has been awarded the International Animation Award. Ali Ahn's performance in 'The Diplomat' has earned her the Supporting Actress Award for Series. Chase Sui Wonders' role in 'The Studio' has been recognised with the Breakthrough Actress Award. Shih-Ching Tsou's 'Left-Handed Girl' has been honoured with the Breakthrough Director Award.
The Critics Choice Association's Celebration of AAPI Cinema & Television promises to be an inspiring evening, celebrating diversity and excellence in film and television. These awards recognise the significant contributions of Asian and Asian-American talent in the industry.
