Criticizes Zverev: Perspective by Becker
Firing Line: Time for Zverev to Shake up His Tennis Team? According to Becker, sure, it's high time!
Tennis' old-timer Boris Becker's got some harsh words for Alexander Zverev after the latter dropped out in the French Open quarterfinals against Djokovic, saying it's about time Zverev takes a good hard look at his team.
"It's like he's playing the same game against the top dogs and hoping for a lucky break," Becker bemoaned. "That works against the amateurs but against the elite five, you gotta keep evolving."
So, how can Zverev evolve, you ask? Becker's got one word – change. He reckons our beloved Sascha needs fresh input and a new scene. "Changing a football coach from one club to another isn't a big deal, right? So why not the same for tennis?" Becker reasoned.
Family's Ace Team
Zverev has his father and coach, Alexander Senior, and his brother, Mischa, managing his team. Becker appreciates the work they've done, but he thinks it's not enough for the ultimate victory. "These guys have done great, but it wasn't quite the best for the grand finale," Becker stated.
In the past, Zverev had notable stints with coaches like Ivan Lendl, Juan Carlos Ferrero, David Ferrer, and Sergi Bruguera. But Senior's been by his side through it all, and Becker hasn't seen any fresh coaching faces around. "I think a new coach ain't gonna show up with this setup, I mean come on!" Becker demanded a clear-cut change.
"The question is, what does Sascha want? Is he content being the world number two? Is he satisfied with an already brilliant tennis career? Or does he say he wants more, wants to mix things up? I mean, the guy's yet to win a Grand Slam, if he ain't happy with that, he's got to do something about it!" Becker, a pal of the Zverev family, questioned.

Alexander Zverev needs to consider bringing in a new coach to evolve his game and potentially win a Grand Slam title. Despite having worked with various coaches in the past, Zverev's team currently consists of just his father, Alexander Senior, and his brother, Mischa. Becker, who appreciates the work they've done, believes a change in coaching staff could be crucial for Zverev's ultimate success in tennis.
