Mehmet Topal Urges Improvement and Respect in Turkish Football

Topal's comments were in response to José Mourinho's recent remarks about his time at Fenerbahce. Mourinho, after returning to Benfica 21 years after leaving Portugal for Chelsea, stated that his tenure at Fenerbahce was a mistake. Topal, however, did not elaborate on the specific experiences that led Mourinho to this conclusion.

Topal's coaching career has not been limited to Turkey. After leaving Fenerbahce Istanbul in August 2025, he took a break from football before accepting a position as a manager. Currently, he is managing Petrolul in Romania.
