In a recent interview with MATCH PREMIER, football analysis specialist Yevgeny Lovchev expressed doubts about the performance of Anton Zabolotny, the current striker for Spartak Moscow.

Lovchev, a former defender for Spartak, criticised Zabolotny's actions in the game against "Baltika," characterising them as erroneous and unprofessional. He also expressed scepticism about Zabolotny's ability to consistently score 15-16 goals per season, a benchmark set for the striker.

Despite Zabolotny's contributions to the team, including direct involvement in goals and offensive pressure in matches, Lovchev does not see him as a threat to strikers like Livaja and Ugalde for a starting spot in Spartak.

Zabolotny joined Spartak as a free agent in the summer, and his aerial strength and playing style, which includes flick-ons and short passes, have been beneficial traits for the team's frontline. However, Lovchev believes that Zabolotny will not be able to bring significant results in terms of the number of goals.

In the second round match of the RPL against "Baltika," Zabolotny was sent off in the 11th minute, contributing to a 0:3 defeat for Spartak. This incident has further raised questions about his consistency and suitability for the team.

Lovchev also highlighted Artem Dzyuba as the best forward in Russia, maintaining stability in his goal-scoring regardless of the team. Dzyuba's performance has been consistent, and he is currently an integral part of Spartak's frontline, often being selected to make amends for past suspensions.

As the season progresses, it remains to be seen whether Zabolotny can turn things around and meet the expectations set for him. Lovchev expects him to soon be on the bench, but only time will tell if he can regain his form and become a valuable asset for Spartak Moscow.

Bookmakers across European-leagues, including the Premier League, have been questioning the long-term prospects of Anton Zabolotny, the striker for Spartak Moscow, due to his recent performances and inconsistency. Despite his aerial strength and contributions to the team, some doubt he can consistently score 15-16 goals per season, a benchmark set for strikers like Spartak's own Livaja and Ugalde.
