A Rant from Paris Jackson: Unbothered About Performing on Dad's Death Anniversary
Criticism incites a fiery response from Paris Jackson, with the term "F**k you" expressed in defiance.
Paris Jackson, the daughter of the iconic "King of Pop," isn't shy about causing a stir. She's caught in a whirlwind of controversies for her planned concert performance on June 25, a date that holds deep emotional significance for her family - it's the 16th anniversary of Michael Jackson's death.
Take a peek at her Instagram Stories, and you'll find a firecracker ready to unleash her frustration. "Here we go again," she starts off, "People are upset, and it's because I'm booked to perform on a date that's tough for my family and me."
Jackson clarifies that, as an opening act for Incubus and Manchester Orchestra on their joint tour, she doesn't have the power to decide the performance dates, times, or cities. "Remember, I'm not the boss," she jokes, "So should I tell them: 'Sorry guys, we can't perform on that date?'" Her sassy "Fuck you" to the haters screams loud and clear.
On June 25, 2009, Michael Jackson passed away at the age of 50, weighed down by an overdose of medication. This forthcoming June 25 marks a somber anniversary for the Jackson family.
Despite the emotional turmoil associated with this date, Paris won't let it deter her. She's traveling light for the tour, bringing along only her acoustic guitar and her sound engineer, who also happens to be her fiancé, Justin Long. The pair announced their engagement in December 2024.
The announcement of Paris Jackson's participation in Incubus' "Morning View + The Hits Tour" in the US and UK made waves in March. Incubus was all smiles, excited about the collaboration, giving a warm welcome to Paris.
Besides being the singer in the spotlight, Paris Jackson is also the second-oldest child of Michael Jackson. She shares the stage with her siblings: an older brother, Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., known as Prince, and a younger half-brother, Prince Michael Jackson, Jr. II., better known as Blanket. Paris has ventured into modeling and acting as well, but her passion certainly lies in music.
