In a recent interview at Humberto Delgado Airport in Lisbon, Jorge Jesus, the renowned Portuguese football manager, shared his excitement about his impending return to Saudi Arabia to take over as head coach of Al Nassr. This move comes after Cristiano Ronaldo's invitation and a verbal agreement for the 2025/26 season.

Jesus, who has been completely invested in Al Hilal, turned down the opportunity to coach the Brazilian national team last year. However, he expressed his love for being in Saudi Arabia and considers the country to be the future, not just in football but beyond.

Al Nassr, one of the best clubs in Saudi Arabia, has been winless since the 2018/19 season. The Portuguese coaches who managed the team before Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival in January 2023 were Rui Vitória and Luís Castro. Since then, Rudi Garcia, Dinko Jelicic, Luís Castro, and Stefano Pioli have also coached the team. With Jesus's arrival, he becomes the second Portuguese coach since Ronaldo's arrival, following Luís Castro.

Jesus and Ronaldo share a common language, making communication between them easier. The legendary footballer invited Jesus to return to the Saudi league, an invitation that Jesus acknowledged would not have been possible without.

In his statement, Jesus expressed his intention to help Al Nassr win titles. He mentioned that he has always won and intends to try to do it again at Al Nassr. The team finished third in the previous league season, and with the addition of Jesus and possibly Ronaldo, fans are hopeful for a successful future.

Al Nassr's management is yet to officially announce Jesus's appointment, but the excitement among supporters is palpable. As Jesus prepares to embark on this new journey, he expressed his happiness at returning to Al Nassr, a club that has always been at the forefront of Saudi football.

  1. Jorge Jesus, in his statement, revealed his plans to assist Al Nassr in clinching titles, citing his history of success, aiming for another victory in the 2025/26 season with the Saudi club.
  2. The arrival of Jorge Jesus at Al Nassr comes after he turned down the offer to coach the Brazilian National Team last year, indicating his commitment to sports in Europe, particularly Portugal and the European leagues, and his affinity for the Middle East.
  3. With Cristiano Ronaldo's influence, Al Nassr has been bolstered by the appointment of Jorge Jesus – the second Portuguese coach at the club since Ronaldo's arrival – at Humberto Delgado Airport in Lisbon, hoping to make an impact in the Saudi football scene and potentially competing in future editions of the European leagues.
