Cristiano Ronaldo, the football superstar who now plays for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, has announced his engagement to partner Georgina Rodriguez.
The couple, who have been together for nine years, made the announcement on Instagram on Monday. Georgina shared a photograph showing a huge ring on her finger, with the caption "Yes, I do." in Spanish.
The engagement ring is a significant symbol of their commitment, with a large diamond estimated between 37 and 45 carats.
Georgina, who is 31 years old, met Ronaldo in 2016 when she was working at a Gucci store in Madrid. The couple have two daughters together, and Georgina has also helped to raise Ronaldo's other three children.
The couple began their relationship in Madrid, where Ronaldo was playing for Real Madrid at the time. They have not yet publicly confirmed their wedding date, but it is expected to take place after July 19, 2026, possibly coinciding with the end of the 2026 World Cup.
The most likely venue for the wedding is Portugal, Ronaldo's homeland, although other possible locations include Riyadh or Spain, reflecting both their current residence and places significant in their relationship history.
