Criminal festival in Hamburg: now the most sought-after passes are in high demand
The 18th edition of the Hamburg Crime Festival, a celebrated annual event dedicated to crime fiction, is set to begin on Monday, 11th August. This year's festival, themed "Accomplices", promises a captivating lineup of author readings, discussions, and cultural events at the international cultural factory, Kampnagel, in early November.
Jean-Luc Bannalec, the author of the popular series featuring Parisian commissioner Georges Dupin, will be presenting his new Brittany crime novel, "Bretonische Versuchungen", at the festival. Bannalec, writing under a pseudonym, will share insights into the novel's chilling tale of a cold-blooded murder of an established confectionery owner in Concarneau, France, which sends Commissioner Dupin on a road trip deep into the Basque Country. Hamburg actor Stephan Benson will perform reading parts for Bannalec's presentation.
Anouk Schollaen will moderate Bannalec's presentation, while Regula Venske, another renowned crime author, will present her work, "The Snail Queen". Eberhard Michaely's short story "Water Damage" and Ben Westphal's insider account of "The Cop in the Hafencity" will also be featured during the festival.
Four authors will present four perspectives on crime during a special evening on 5th November. Marie-Christin Fuchs' "Murder Knows No Holidays" will also be presented during this event.
Tickets for the Hamburg Evening on 5th November, including Bannalec's presentation in Hall K6, are available at the Hamburger Abendblatt business office, Heymann bookstores, and under the Kampnagel hotline. The program and ticket information can also be found on the official website www.krimifestival-hamburg.de.
The complete program for the 18th Hamburg Crime Festival will be published in early September, with pre-sales for two special evenings curated by Volker Albers beginning on 11th August. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, checking the official Hamburg Crime Festival website or Kampnagel’s event calendar closer to the event date is recommended.

Additionally, during the festival, movies and TV shows based on crime novels will be screened at the international cultural factory, Kampnagel.
