In the small city of Bielefeld, Germany, a shocking incident took place on March 9, 2024, that left the community in disbelief. Former professional boxer Besar Nimani was gunned down in broad daylight, and the case has since been the subject of an intense investigation.

The Regional Court of Bielefeld convicted a 34-year-old individual of murder on April 8, but the motive for the heinous act remains unclear. The trial for the murder, which took place under high security, also revealed that shots were fired in front of the court during the trial.

The second shooter in the case, Ayman Dawoud Kirit, has not been apprehended. The 33-year-old is the subject of an international search by German authorities, who are actively seeking public assistance to locate him. Kirit has fled and is on the run internationally.

The first shooter, Hüseyin Akkurt, has been implicated and charged in connection with the murder. The trial relating to the subsequent revenge attacks linked to the case is ongoing. Akkurt, also 33, has been remanded in custody.

During the shooting, the victim's brother, who was on trial for murder, was able to hide behind a car initially and was not hit. However, he was later shot in the knee while fleeing. The driver of the vehicle, who has not yet been identified, was sitting in the driver's seat during the shooting.

The siblings fled the scene but turned themselves in to the police days later. Police and special forces were on the scene for hours to apprehend the shooters. Tragically, the victim bled out at the scene after being shot.

An international search is still ongoing for Kirit, who allegedly fired 15 shots at the former middleweight boxer. According to the indictment, the family decided to avenge the brother by killing the father and brother of the later convicted man. However, the motive for the initial murder of Besar Nimani has not been clarified.

The German police are urging anyone with information about Kirit's whereabouts to come forward. The safety of the public is their top priority, and they are committed to bringing the second shooter to justice.
