An Uneventful Tree Blossom Weekend for Cops, But Some Issues Emerge Later

The launch of the 146th Tree Blossom Bash in Werder, Havel, started off on a largely peaceful note, as reported by the local law enforcement. The ХХ-day festivities at the weekend didn't cause any major fuss, according to police spokesperson's statement. However, a handful of transgressions surfaced post-event.

Post-Event Transgressions

The police spokesperson announced three instances of physical altercations, three breaches of the Narcotics Act, and one instance of offensive language towards a law enforcement officer. The season-long festival culminates on May 4. The small town of around 27,000 residents, known for its cherished orchards, has redesigned the festival due to a history of public intoxication and illegal activities. The carnival funfair, complete with a Ferris wheel and bumper cars, opens on April 30. The celebratory mile, which carries the true festival spirit, kicks off on May 1. In recent years, there have been complaints from residents about ill-behaved festival visitors, such as those urinating in public spaces or causing disturbances while drunk.

Friday Scuffle

One day prior to the festival's kickoff, there was a scuffle between a group of boisterous individuals and guests at a local inn in Werder, as indicated by police reports. The ruckus allegedly involved three suspects, aged from 23 to 25, who attacked a 36-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man using furniture and pepper spray.
