In the gaming world, anticipation is building for the upcoming release of Lords of the Fallen 2, scheduled for 2026. The game, which is being developed by CI Games, has seen a series of developments, including changes in leadership and a shift in direction.

Recently, David Valjalo has been appointed as the creative strategist for Lords of the Fallen 2. According to reports, Valjalo is now involved in shaping the game's direction and tone towards a darker, more ambitious sequel [1]. However, the available search results do not explicitly name new leads replacing the creative director, art director, or executive producer positions specifically. The emphasis is on CI Games pushing ahead with the sequel under a refreshed strategy, but the new key leadership titles beyond Valjalo's creative strategist role are not detailed.

The departure of the creative director, art director, and executive producer has been a significant change for the project. Cezar Virtosu, the former creative director, described leaving the Lords of the Fallen world as the hardest part.

James Lowe, the game director for Lords of the Fallen 2, has a rich background in the gaming industry. He came from Fishlabs and Deck13 before joining CI Games. Nathan Richardsson, named as the senior development director for Lords of the Fallen 2 and another upcoming game by CI Games, previously worked at Directive Games and Ubisoft.

The development of Lords of the Fallen 2 has been a collaborative effort, with Hexworks, a studio formed by CI Games, taking the lead. The project has gone through multiple studios, including Deck13, Defiant Studios, and Hexworks, following Defiant Studios' termination from the project due to CI Games claiming inferior work, a claim that Defiant denies.

CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski has been promoting a "zero woke" policy for the past year, a stance that he recently reiterated in reference to the alteration of body types in Lords of the Fallen 2023. Tyminski made changes to the character creation body types in the game to be explicitly 'male' and 'female.'

Tyler Wilde, a journalist who grew up in Silicon Valley during the '80s and '90s, playing games like Zork and Arkanoid on early PCs, has been focusing on PC Gamer's news coverage. Wilde has also taken up hobbies such as amateur boxing and adding to his 1,200-plus hours in Rocket League.

Lords of the Fallen 2 was revealed at Gamescom's Opening Night Live, with CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski describing the game as "bolder, braver, and bloodier." The game is set to be a significant addition to the action RPG genre, and with the new leadership and direction, fans are eagerly awaiting its release in 2026.
