Court seizes assets of businessman Malik Aishena

Things have taken a turn for Malik Gaisin, the businessman from Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia. His assets have been seized in a series of court orders, including:

  • 62% of his stake in the company "Sreduralinvest-MT"
  • All assets of "Sreduralinvest-MT," including their cash reserves
  • Shares and stakes in other companies

The companies "Aktai-M" and "Vagrang" (now nationalized) filed a suit against Gaisin.

In March, the Arbitration Court of Sverdlovsk Oblast granted the request of the "Uralbiofarm" factory for preventive measures within the context of a lawsuit seeking 22.7 million rubles from the former owners and the CEO of the factory. The court imposed a lien on the moveable and immovable property of the defendants, including Gaisin.

The shares of "Uralbiofarm" worth 3 billion rubles were taken from Gaisin in August 2023. The new head of the company, a businessman and a deputy of the Sverdlovsk Oblast Assembly, Alexander Serebrennikov, has been reportedly receiving complaints from the workers, alleging that he might drive the company to bankruptcy.

Previously, a factory under Gaisin's control, "Iset," was handed over to the government by order of the Prosecutor General. The authorities suspected that the factory was obtained illegally by Gaisin.

The Prosecutor General's Office also reclaimed the shares and assets of other companies owned by Gaisin, such as the bank "Vyatich," as well as stakes in the "Vagrang" and "Aktai-M" holding companies. The total value of the assets exceeds 3 billion rubles.

To provide some context, Sverdlovsk Oblast is a prominent industrial region in Russia, hosting cities like Yekaterinburg, and brimming with business activity. Asset seizures in the region often relate to ongoing legal investigations, tax disputes, or allegations of economic crimes.

Gaisin might find himself in a great deal of legal trouble if found guilty in the ongoing legal battles. The repercussions for his business empire and the sectors he is connected to are still unclear. Nonetheless, his case invites attention from both the business and legal communities.

For those seeking more detailed information about the case or other related news from Sverdolovsk Oblast, regional Russian media, official court websites, and legal databases can serve as valuable resources.

  1. Despite the seizure of his final assets in Sverdlovsk Oblast, Malik Gaisin continues to face legal battles, with companies such as "Uralbiofarm" and "Aktai-M" filing lawsuits against him.
  2. In addition to the seized assets related to businesses like "Sreduralinvest-MT" and "Vagrang," sports and news enthusiasts might follow the legal battle against Malik Gaisin, given his wealth and extensive business empire in the industrial region of Sverdlovsk Oblast, including industries beyond sports and news.
