The Hamburg Regional Court has greenlit the indictment against entrepreneur, Christina Block, on charges of alleged child kidnapping. The youth court division of the Hamburg Regional Court has stated that the defendants exhibit enough suspicion, according to a court spokesperson on Tuesday. The trial commences on July 11, with a total of 37 trial dates scheduled between July 2022 and December 2025.
The prosecutor's office accuses Block of orchestrating the abduction of her daughter born in 2010 and son born in 2013. Joining her in the defendant lineup are a 62-year-old German national and a 35-year-old Israeli citizen, who are implicated as accomplices.

A further five defendants are charged with aiding and abetting, among them, the 66-year-old life partner of Block, renowned sports journalist and moderator Gerhard Delling. The Hamburg Regional Court clarified on Tuesday that there might be a divergent legal assessment from the indictment. This could entail Delling being convicted as an accomplice as well.
This saga stems from a custody dispute between Block and her ex-spouse. Post an agreed visit in August 2021, the ex-husband retained the shared kids in Danish Gravenstein near the border. The custody was previously awarded to the ex-husband by a Danish court.
Ambush and Abduction
On New Year’s Eve 2023/2024, the 35-year-old Israeli and a team of five suspects are claimed to have ambushed the father in Denmark, brutally assaulting him. The then 10- and 13-year-old children were reportedly taken by force and stuffed into a vehicle. During a vehicle exchange in the border region between Germany and Denmark, it’s alleged that they taped the children's mouths shut and further restrained the daughter’s hands.
According to the indictment, they then made their way to Baden-Württemberg in a motorhome, where the children were held captive against their will until Block arrived on January 2, 2024. Delling allegedly coordinated their journey to Baden-Württemberg and managed their joint return with the children to Hamburg.
