Nashville, TN - In an interview with The Independent, Dolly Parton has opened up about her husband Carl Dean's death, revealing that he had been ill for a prolonged period before his passing at the age of 82 on March 3.
"I really feel his presence," the Grammy-winning artist told the outlet, adding, "I just try to go on, because I know I have to." Parton emphasized that although her spouse was ill for quite some time, she found a sense of peace knowing that he was no longer suffering.
The 78-year-old country musician also highlighted her faith as a source of strength during this challenging period. "I am a person of faith, and I truly believe that I'm going to see him again someday," she said.
Parton reminisced about their shared life, stating that she feels Carl's presence every day in her memories, her heart, and in the things they built together. However, moving forward without him has been a difficult process, especially considering they had been together for a long time.
"You just kind of have to learn to kind of make new plans - but that's the hardest part," she added.
The "Here You Come Again" singer has released a new song as a tribute to her late husband, underscoring the enduring impact of their relationship. She has acknowledged that, despite her belief in life after death, the feelings of loss and loneliness persist.
