A shift in events is brewing along the contested border of Thailand and Cambodia following a lethal skirmish in May, which resulted in the loss of a Cambodian soldier's life. Thailand, on the other hand, rejects the court's jurisdiction and insists on resolving all border-related issues through direct discussions.
A previous escalation occurred in 2008, centered around a centuries-old Hindu temple, resulting in numerous casualties among both nations. Tensions have been on the rise since then, with both countries standing firm on their territorial claims while seeking dialogue simultaneously.
