Hey there! 'Sup!

Wild thunderstorms have been causing a hell of a ruckus in Saxony-Anhalt. The crazy storms have wreaked havoc, especially in the north's Altmark region. By 8 PM, the control center records approximately 280 emergencies in the districts of Stendal and Salzwedel. What the heck happened? Well, a spokesperson dished the deets: overturned trees, mangled power lines, busted roofs, smashed cars, you name it! Just picture the aftermath of a category 3 hurricane, and you're on the right track. The situation calmed down a bit by evening, but there were still deployments being tackled, one by one.

In Harz, the roads were littered with fallen trees due to the wild storms. Fire department crews had their hands full.

Don't think the train service escaped unscathed either. An ICE from Berlin to Cologne was forced to take a detour via Magdeburg due to damages from the storm to the overhead lines between Stendal and Wolfsburg, believe it or not!

The German Weather Service (DWD) warned about severe thunderstorms with winds that could knock you off your feet, lightning strikes, falling trees, high-voltage lines, and scaffolding collapse in many parts of Saxony-Anhalt.

So, keep an eye on the sky, folks! Stay safe out there!
