Countering Pakistan's Disinformation and Propaganda: India's Response - Detailed, Verifiable Proof
New Delhi Unleashes Operation Sindoor, Days After Pahalgam Terror Attack
In the aftermath of the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives, India launched Operation Sindoor, striking terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Kashmir areas under its control, at the beginning of this week.
Following the attack, on April 22, India carried out attacks on nine key locations in Pakistan, including the bases of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke. This marked the beginning of Operation Sindoor.
Sources within the government revealed that India has documented evidence of all the strikes and the sites targeted as proof that Pakistan continues to serve as a safe haven for terrorists. They reportedly issued standing instructions to armed forces to collect visual evidence and set up a data collection unit to record every visual of Indian strikes on Pakistani terror hubs.
The Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Defence shared video evidence during a press conference, displaying the locations being struck. They also provided details about each location and why it was crucial to strike them.
Operation Sindoor's phase two was initiated after Pakistan attempted, unsuccessfully, to strike military installations in 15 cities, including Jammu and Srinagar. India retaliated with air defense system strikes in Pakistan, including one in Lahore. Evidence of these attacks too has been collected.
The Border Security Force also released videos of the operation in Samba sector in Jammu and Kashmir, where seven terrorists were reportedly killed during an infiltration attempt.
The collected evidence, according to officials, is serving multiple purposes: it's proving to the world what's really happening, helping to isolate Pakistan, and countering propaganda spread by Islamabad. It's also helping prevent false Pakistani claims, like those about Indian drones being shot down or civilian targets being hit, from gaining traction.
India remains firm in its stance that Pakistan is the original aggressor, with the Pahalgam terror attack marking the beginning of the current hostilities. The Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri reiterated this point in a press conference on Thursday.
"Pakistan initiated the escalation on the 22nd of April. We are responding to this escalation with the action taken on the 6th of May. Any further aggression from Pakistan will be met with suitable responses," said Misri, emphasizing that the action was aimed at non-civilian, non-military targets and confined to terrorist camps.

[Visual Evidence]
India has provided visual evidence, including video footage, to demonstrate the precision and measured nature of the Operation Sindoor. These visuals counter misinformation spread by Pakistani media outlets. Additionally, it is believed that India might have collected imagery from various sources, such as satellite or drone footage, though specifics are not widely reported.
[Data Evidence]
Indian officials have disclosed details about specific targets, including terror bases of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizbul Mujahideen's facilities. They have also shared details about weapon systems used, including SCALP-EG land-attack cruise missiles and AASM HAMMER guided bombs. These details support the contention that the strikes were focused on terrorist infrastructure.
