Countering Migration Policies Remains a Priority for the Muslim SPD-Landrat
In a recent statement, Ali Dogan, the first county administrator with a migrant background in Germany and a member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), has called for swift deportations of criminal migrants and a new approach to integration.
Dogan identified numerous Islamist parallel societies in Germany, such as the Islamic Community Milli Görüs (IGMG), the Muslim Brothers, and the Turkish Grey Wolves, which he believes have been ignored for decades. He emphasized the need for an open debate about immigrant crime without automatic right-wing labeling.
The SPD politician did not make any specific accusations against the government in this context, beyond the failure to cooperate with Kurdish authorities and address Islamist parallel societies. However, he accused the government of not preventing numerous offenders from conflict zones from entering the country since 2015, through cooperation with Kurdish authorities.
Dogan highlighted the overwhelming situation in kindergartens and schools due to language barriers and suggested faster procedures for deporting offenders who have served prison sentences in Germany. He proposed a "dual strategy" for integration, including a resource-oriented approach to diversity and zero tolerance for cross-border behavior.
The politician also emphasized the need for sufficient kindergarten places and language courses as part of this strategy. He stated that many migrants come from patriarchal structures, often from Muslim-majority countries, and this should be taken into account in integration efforts.
Dogan rejected accusations of being too harsh on migrants and fueling xenophobic sentiments. He suggested that his background as a migrant might make it easier for him to address this topic compared to a mayor named Pit.
It is important to note that there are no search results directly addressing Dogan's stance on these issues. To obtain an accurate and current view of his positions, it would be best to consult direct statements, interviews, or official party releases about Ali Dogan’s views on migration policy, criminal deportations, integration efforts, and critiques of government handling of migration.
For a general overview of common SPD stances on these topics, the party generally supports an inclusive and welcoming approach to migration, while also advocating for the integration of migrants into German society and the rule of law. The SPD has also called for stricter measures against criminal migrants and better cooperation with international partners to manage migration.
