Countdown Initiated (Earning Platinum Points)!
During the MAR10 Day celebration on March 10, Nintendo is hosting the My Nintendo Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Community Challenge for players in the Americas[1][3][5]. This special event invites participants to earn 310 Platinum Points on My Nintendo by playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Nintendo Switch.
To join the challenge, start up the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game during the event timing. The challenge involves community-wide goals, requiring players to complete certain in-game objectives or accumulate points collectively.
To receive the Platinum Points, participants must have a linked My Nintendo account[3][5]. Non-members can still take part by downloading and playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Nintendo Switch; however, they must create a free My Nintendo account and link it to their Nintendo Switch profile to earn and receive the Platinum Points.
The event runs from March 7 to March 17 at 11:59 p.m. PT. To find the tournament, select Online Play, then head over to Tournaments and then Search by Code. Enter the code: 1152-2501-4827 to join the tournament.
Participants can share their screenshots from the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe community challenge online using #MAR10Day. The goal of the community is to finish one million combined laps in the game.
For those who don't have a Nintendo Switch Online membership, a 14-Day Free Trial Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership is available to participate in the event. The free trial automatically converts to a 1-month auto-renewing membership unless automatic renewal is turned off.
The free trial cannot be redeemed for a Nintendo Switch Online - Expansion Pack membership nor by a Nintendo Account with an active Individual Membership or Family Membership. The Nintendo Account User Agreement applies for the free trial.
The offer for the free trial is available until March 17 at 11:00 p.m. PT. The code for the tournament must be claimed by 3/17/2025 at 11:00 pm PT.
Platinum Points can be used to redeem Mario-themed rewards from My Nintendo, including two new physical rewards: the Super MarioTM Stadium Tote Bag and the Mario KartTM 8 Deluxe License Holder with Lanyard.
