Countdown begins: preparations in motion, recruitment of poll workers sought
The State Election Commissioner, Stephan Broechler, has already begun preparations for a series of significant events and elections taking place in Berlin. Here's a rundown of what to expect in the coming months.
Firstly, the election for the composition of the state parliament in Berlin is scheduled for September 20, 2026. The Social Democratic Party (SPD) has nominated Steffen Krach as their likely lead candidate for the Berlin state government election. Other party candidates for this election have not yet been officially announced.
In addition to the state election, Berliners can look forward to a variety of cultural and social events. The Long Night of Museums 2025, The Day of Open Doors of the Federal Government 2025, The Meteor Shower Night 2025, and The Christopher Street Day 2025 are all scheduled to take place.
