Scottie Scheffler One Major Championship Away from Career Grand Slam
American golf sensation Scottie Scheffler is on the cusp of golfing history, needing just one more Major Championship win to achieve the coveted career grand slam.
Scheffler's impressive Major Championship record currently stands at four victories, having clinched The Masters in 2022 and 2024, the PGA Championship in 2025, and The Open Championship in the same year.
The 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow saw Scheffler take a three-stroke lead into the final round and ultimately win by a five-stroke margin. His final round performance was particularly impressive, as he played the last five holes in five-under-par.
During the tournament, Scheffler faced a unique challenge. He had expressed his readiness to leave mid-round if his wife Meredith went into labor on Sunday, saying during the Green Jacket presentation ceremony, "I love you and I'm coming home. I'll be home as quick as I can."
The 2025 Open Championship at Royal Portrush saw Scheffler reach 10-under-par after 36 holes and hold a four-stroke margin after three days. He eventually clinched the title with a four-stroke victory, including a final round of three-under-par 68 that included a double-bogey.
Interestingly, this was Scheffler's first Major Championship win away from Augusta National, breaking his streak of two consecutive Masters victories.
With these wins, Scheffler's Major Championship record now includes one win at The Open, 2025, in addition to his previous win at The Masters, 2022.
