News Article: Integration Council Elections in Detmold Scheduled for September 14th
The city of Detmold is gearing up for the election of its Integration Council, set to take place on September 14th. This council plays a significant role in advising the city council and administration, organizing events, and cooperating with the state integration council.
Laura Estevo, a member of the Coordination and Integration Team in Detmold's city administration, is spearheading the preparations for the election. Foreign nationals, stateless persons, naturalized persons, Germans with dual citizenship, and Germans who have acquired citizenship by birth in Germany are all eligible to vote in this election.
To ensure everyone is well-informed about the election process, a series of information events will be held starting from May 14th. These events will provide detailed information on how the election works and how to engage in the body. The first event will take place at the Reconciliation Church on Hiddeser Berg, Martin-Luther-Straße 39. Further events are scheduled for May 15th at the Kleingaertnerverein Kampwiese in Detmold-Herberhausen, June 11th at the city portal's meeting center, Paulinenstraße 65, and the last one on June 12th at the AWO in Heidenoldendorf in the old primary school, Niedernfeldweg 6.
The Integration Council represents the interests of Detmold residents with a migration background and focuses on common topics such as anti-discrimination work, educational issues for children with a migration background, and dialogue between cultures.
