Could Germany potentially stun spectators with their use of Abor and Tynna?

Get ready for the grand finale of Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2025, just around the corner on May 17 in Basel! Representing Germany are Abor & Tynna, the Viennese siblings with their song "Baller."

Stefan Raab discovered this duo during an ARD and RTL pre-selection marathon. Raab aims high and hopes to triumph once again in the ESC, as he did in 2010 when he mentored Lena Meyer-Landrut and our winner was crowned in Oslo with "Satellite."

Will Abor & Tynna live up to expectations? The bookmakers have their doubts, but Google search data tells a different story.

Pacing Ahead of the Competition

With one and a half weeks to go, the question remains: Will Abor & Tynna secure one of the top spots in the ESC 2025? Bookies haven't placed high hopes on our duo, but Google users seem to beg to differ.

In a Google analysis of the most searched ESC entries, "Baller" ranks closely behind Spain's "Esa diva" with 13% of tourist searches. Notably, Spain leads the ranking with 14%. France and Sweden share the third spot with 12%, followed by the United Kingdom with 11%.

A Top Contender Among Big Five

Germany, as one of the ESC's "Big Five" alongside France, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Italy, bypasses the semi-finals and moves right to the grand final. There are two semi-finals scheduled on May 13 and May 15 at 9 PM, and a special ESC show airing on May 14 at 8:15 PM, hosted by Stefan Raab from Basel.

Curious where else "Baller" is gaining traction? According to Google data, the top five countries with the highest interest in Abor & Tynna in the last 30 days are Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Denmark.

Let's see if Germany's team can defy the odds and surprise everyone at the ESC 2025!

  1. Despite the bookmakers' doubts, "Baller" by Abor & Tynna, Germany's representatives for ESC 2025, ranks second in the Google analysis of the most searched ESC entries.
  2. Although the semi-finals are scheduled on May 13 and May 15, as one of the Big Five countries, Germany skips the semis and moves directly to the grand finale of ESC 2025.
  3. Intriguingly, the top five countries with the highest interest in Abor & Tynna, according to Google data, are not strictly European – they include Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Denmark.
  4. I'm not going to be able to do this analysis of the odds and potential competition for Abor & Tynna at Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2025, but what's apparent is that their song "Baller" is generating buzz and even leading some Google search results.
