In an interesting turn of events, the upcoming film *Sinners* shares a connection with the highly-anticipated Marvel's *Blade* reboot, starring Mahershala Ali. This connection lies in the costumes, as confirmed by both Sev Ohanian, producer of *Sinners*, and Ruth E. Carter, the costume designer for both films.

Sev Ohanian revealed that several costumes used in *Sinners* were originally made for Marvel's *Blade* reboot before the project was postponed and presumably scrapped. These costumes were purchased from Marvel and repurposed for *Sinners*, as the *Blade* reboot was initially planned as a period piece, which matched well with *Sinners*' setting.

Ruth E. Carter, who has a warehouse full of period-appropriate clothes for *Sinners*, also confirmed that she had worked on the *Blade* reboot before it was cancelled. This similarity in time settings explains why the costumes could be reused between the two projects.

*Sinners*, which has already made a ton of money and lit the world on fire, is set to deal with the past around the same era as the 1920s, according to Sev Ohanian. Meanwhile, Carter's costumes for *Sinners* were originally meant for the *Blade* reboot.

It's worth noting that the situation around *Blade*'s return to the movies has been troubled, but recent statements from Marvel boss Kevin Feige suggest that they might have finally figured out a proper take for the character. With *Sinners*' success, it will be in the conversation surrounding Blade's eventual return.

However, it's unclear which version of the script this idea was linked to, and there were rumours of a version of *Blade*'s script that spans one or more time periods. One iteration of the script for *Blade*'s return to the movies was said to have made him a side character.

As for *Sinners*, it was supposed to be shot like tomorrow, according to Sev Ohanian. Furthermore, a lot of the film's background actors are also wearing costumes originally meant for the *Blade* reboot.

The future of *Blade*'s return to the movies remains uncertain, but this connection between the two films certainly adds an intriguing layer to the ongoing discussions about the character's future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
