Cost Revealed for Sacking Ange Postecoglou as Tottenham Ponders His Future Decision

Hear Ye, Hear Ye!

Here's the skinny on Ange Postecoglou's uncertain future at Tottenham Hotspur, despite his stellar performance and ending Spurs' trophy drought.

This Aussie charm bomb, Postecoglou, delivered Tottenham's first trophy in near two decades, along with their first European trophy since 1984. But alas, his tenure seems questionable following a dismal domestic campaign. Chairman Daniel Levy's move could be imminent, but rumors swirl of what's next.

The Uncertain Fate of Ange Postecoglou: Doubt Looms Over the Champions

The Europa League victory might've papered over the numerous cracks in Tottenham's Premiere League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup runs. A whopping 22 league losses, a fourth-round FA Cup exit, and a humiliating 4-1 aggregate defeat against Liverpool have placed Postecoglou in a precarious position.

According to The Mirror, it would cost Spurs around £4 million to ax Postecoglou. With his already collected £2 million bonus from the Europa League win, Spurs may have to fork over over £6 million this summer just to reward and then fire him, adding a new manager to the expenses.

But wait, there's more! This exorbitant expenditure on a new manager might strain the club's budget, given the urgent squad overhaul needed.

Postecoglou seems to have faith that he'll be back next season, and he's not shy about sharing his thoughts. He said, "I've had to answer the questions about my future because no one else at the club is in the position to. But I can’t answer that question about me and my future. And part of me is kind of thinking, well, why have I been asked that question?"

At our site, we sympathize with Daniel Levy's predicament. While Tottenham's domestic performances were abysmal last season, their European performances hinted at Postecoglou still having the players' backing, particularly in the final.

His speech at Tottenham's victory parade seemed like a rallying cry to the fans, who have shown strong support for the manager lately. Sacking him now could stir more conflict between the board and the fans than necessary.

Perhaps keeping him on, reassessing the situation in October or November when international football breaks could be the best move for everyone involved. As for Postecoglou, he's taking time to relax with family and is ignoring intense interest from several clubs in England and Europe. Stay tuned!
