Corendon Transforms Retired Boeing 747 into '737 Suite' at Amsterdam Hotel
Corendon Tourism Group has added a unique attraction to its Corendon City Hotel Amsterdam New West property. The company has transformed a retired Boeing 747-400 into a '737 Suite', replicating an aircraft cabin interior in the hotel's garden. This innovative move is part of Corendon's ongoing expansion into aviation-themed amenities.
The idea to transport an airplane into a hotel garden came from an unknown entrepreneur. The project was executed under the guidance of Orkun Bulut, who serves as a digital coordinator at Corendon Tourism Group. Dutch tattoo artist turned painter, Lieuwe van Gogh, was commissioned to design an exterior mural for the Boeing 747.
Corendon's journey with aircraft began in 2019 when they acquired the retired Boeing 747-400 from KLM. After months of planning and an investment of over 500,000 euros, the aircraft was moved to the Corendon Plaza Hotel in Badhoevedorp. Now, it serves as a marketing beacon and a photogenic icon, offering guided tours and special events to guests.
Founded in 1997 by Atılay Uslu and Yıldıray Karaer, Corendon Tourism Group has evolved from a simple tour operator into a hospitality provider offering unique, aviation-themed experiences. The '737 Suite' is a testament to the company's innovative approach to hospitality, setting it apart from standard city hotels.
