Córdoba CF Reinforce Squad Ahead of 2023 Season

Córdoba CF is gearing up for the upcoming season with a series of strategic signings aimed at bolstering their squad and addressing areas of concern from the previous campaign.

The team, which suffered from conceding many goals last season, finishing as the third-worst in the category, has addressed this issue by signing Rubén Alves. Alves, who had a standout performance in the second half of the season, is expected to shore up the defence.

In the midfield, Isma Ruiz, Theo Zidane, Pedro Ortiz, Jacobo, Alex Sala, Alberto del Moral, Dani Requena, and Dalisson form the core of the Oviedo coach's scheme. New additions Alberto del Moral, Dani Requena, and Dalisson have reinforced the interior midfield area, providing a solid foundation for the team.

Juan María Alcedo and Ignasi Vilarrasa have been brought in to strengthen the wing, while Kevin Medina and Diego Bri have been signed to provide better competition in the wings. These signings have significantly improved the quality of the team, according to Juanito, the club's sporting director.

However, the team has also seen several departures. Key players such as Antonio Casas and José Calderón have left the club, while Ramón Vila, Mati Barboza, Genaro, and Corbo, who did not play prominently last season, have also departed. To fill these gaps, Rubén Alves will replace Lapena and Martinez, who have left the team.

Córdoba CF has made a total of 14 signings in the recent transfer period, with 11 new additions focusing on defence and midfield. Adilson Mendes will be unavailable until the second half of the season.

As for the left wing, Jacobo, Diego Bri, or Adrián Fuentes are the current options. With these signings, Córdoba CF currently has 25 players for the next match against Sporting Gijón on August 18.

The transfer market will close in less than three weeks, and Córdoba CF is making the most of this period to strengthen their squad and prepare for the upcoming season.
