Coordinating Covertly Delivered Larceny via Traditional Mail Service
In our latest blog post, we chatted up influential musician Lindsey Jordan, AKA Snail Mail, during a stop at our site East while she was touring Europe for her sophomore album, Valentine. Recorded with Brad Cook (of Bon Iver and Waxahatchee fame), Valentine is packed with a mix of romance, heartache, blood, sweat, and tears.
Here, we share Lindsey's selection of five of her favorite tunes to represent some of her musical preferences. We delve into her love for jazz, her home listening habits, and her unwavering affection for one iconic Oasis album in particular...
Let's dive in!
Mdou Mortar - Afrique Victime
A label mate of mine! I finally gave it a listen and it's so original and cool.
Oasis - Definitely Maybe
The best band ever! I've wanted Definitely Maybe for ages but I waited until I was in England to buy it, like a true fan.
The Oscar Peterson Trio - Night Train
Admittedly, I hadn't heard this one before, but it's gotten great reviews from my manager and jazz records inspire me like nobody's business, especially in the morning over a hot cup o' joe. I usually buy records I haven't heard and end up loving them.
MF Doom - Madvillainy
Doom's genius! I listen to this album all the time and it inspires me no end. I'm excited to have it on vinyl so I can enjoy it on repeat.
Bill Evans - Conversations With Myself
Everyone seems to love Bill Evans, and I sure do. His melodies speak to me in a way few others do, and I find myself returning to his tracks again and again, despite my short attention span. As you may guess, Conversations With Myself will join the ranks of my destroyed records!
