Hitman's about a lone wolf, but fret not, it's not forever! IO Interactive announces the development of a tantalizing co-op mode for the World of Assassination series. Get ready to team up with a buddy, buddy!

In a snazzy IOI Showcase presentation, Christian Elverdam, the chief creative officer, shares the exciting news about the upcoming co-op Hitman experience. "Want to tag along, mate?" Elverdam says, practically inviting you to the dance. Two new playable characters, Stone and Knight, who've put on quite a show in the sniper co-op mode, are now stepping up to the plate within the full co-op mode.

These familiar faces, Stone and Knight, have a history of working together in previous titles like Hitman 2: Sniper Assassin and Hitman Sniper: The Shadows. Seems like they're the perfect pairs for this co-op mayhem.

The details of the co-op mode aren't fully unveiled yet, and there's no video sneak peek to satiate your curiosity – sorry, pal! But we do get a glimpse of the action on screen while Elverdam talks, and it appears that one character will be front and center, while another pops up in a bottom-left picture-in-picture window.

Equipped with those trusty silence pistols, and the ability to disguise themselves, it's clear this isn't just a pal around, promoting a noodle popping contest. These are raw, hard-boiled assassin vibes.

As for the release date, let's just say it's a mystery, wrapped in an enigma, and encased in a far-off future. Elverdam expresses it's still in the fledgling stages, and more information about the new mode is on its way "soon."

So buckle up, assassins! It seems we're in for a whole new take on the Hitman experience, and the opportunity to dodge bullets with a buddy. Can't wait to hit the streets with a partner-in-crime!
