Controversy within virtual streaming platform VShojo: Executive leader issues fresh statement regarding recent drama involving Ironmouse
In a shocking turn of events, the popular VTuber agency VShojo is officially shutting down, marking the end of an era for the virtual talent industry. The closure, announced on July 24, 2025, is a direct result of severe financial mismanagement and debt issues, including unpaid funds owed to prominent streamer Ironmouse and a charity she supported.
The company, which co-founded by Ironmouse, raised around $11 million over several years. However, despite these funds, VShojo ran out of money and failed to cover its costs, leading to its eventual shutdown. Ironmouse, the third most subscribed streamer on Twitch, revealed on July 21, 2025, that VShojo withheld a significant amount of her streaming revenue, including over $500,000 donated for the Immune Deficiency Foundation during a charity livestream. This donation, intended for a charitable initiative, was allegedly spent elsewhere.
The controversy deepened when Ironmouse accused VShojo of spending charity funds on general talent activities. The CEO, Justin "Gunrun" Ignacio, admitted to mismanaging the company and expressed regret for the situation, apologizing to those who believed in the VShojo brand. However, some community members disputed the CEO's claim of ignorance about the nature of these funds, pointing out his participation in Ironmouse’s charity event.
Following Ironmouse's announcement, several VTubers associated with VShojo, including Michi Mochievee, Henya the Genius, and Haruka Karibu, spoke out about the situation. They removed any mention of the company from their social media accounts and expressed their support for Ironmouse. The mass talent exodus and internal layoffs compounded the crisis, leading to the company's closure.
The shutdown affects not just the talents and staff, but also the community members who have been supporting VShojo. Ironmouse started streaming to make friends online due to having common variable immunodeficiency (CVID), an immune disorder. Her departure from VShojo and the closure of the agency mark a significant loss for the virtual talent community.
