Controversy Surrounds 'The Taj Story' as Release Nears

The shooting of 'The Taj Story', a social drama film, began in July 2024. The movie, starring Paresh Rawal, Zakir Hussain, Amruta Khanvilkar, Sneha Wagh, and Namit Das, is set to hit screens on October 31, 2025. However, its release has been surrounded by controversy.

The teaser, released in August 2024, showed Rawal in a courtroom discussing the intellectual removal of a community, sparking debate about the film's depiction of the Taj Mahal. The poster further fuelled this discussion, leading to a statement from the makers clarifying that the film does not deal with religious matters and does not claim a Shiv temple resides within the Taj Mahal.

Paresh Rawal initially shared the poster but later deleted it and shared the makers' statement. The film is produced by Swarnim Global Services Pvt Ltd and CA Suresh Jha, and is written and directed by Tushar Amrish Goel. Despite searches, no information about the director was found.

The Taj Story, focusing solely on historical facts according to the makers, has stirred up controversy despite not being religiously themed. The film's release in late 2025 will likely bring more clarity to the debate surrounding its depiction of the iconic Taj Mahal.
