Controversy arises for Badshah as FWICE challenges his overseas concert allegedly linked to Pakistan, demanding an explanation regarding his affiliations

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has issued a directive advising Indian artists to refrain from collaborating with Pakistani organisations, following heightened geopolitical tensions such as the recent Pahalgam attack.

In a recent development, the FWICE has written a letter to rapper Badshah, expressing concerns about his upcoming concert in Dallas, Texas, allegedly sponsored by a Pakistani-owned company. However, Badshah and his management have clarified that the concert is managed by a US-based promoter, Intense Entertainment, with no Pakistani involvement in financial or organisational aspects.

Despite this clarification, the FWICE maintains its stance that Indian artists should avoid collaborations or sponsorships involving Pakistani nationals or companies. The organisation is actively seeking clarification and assurances from artists to ensure compliance and is scrutinising any events allegedly linked to Pakistani organisations.

FWICE president BN Tiwari stated that Pakistanis are being promoted because they receive money through improper channels, and that Indian artists should be paid fairly. The organisation has threatened to cancel passports and bar involvement in Indian citizenship privileges for those involved in such collaborations.

The letter sent to Badshah requests immediate clarification regarding his association with the event and the organisers. Similarly, FWICE has written a letter to actor Kartik Aaryan asking him to withdraw from an Independence Day event in Houston, USA, hosted by a Pakistani-owned entity.

The FWICE's stance is not new, as they have previously warned Kartik Aaryan and condemned Diljit Dosanjh and the makers of 'Sardaarji 3' for casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir.

The letter from FWICE highlights ongoing terrorism and hostile activities directed against India from across the border, including the recent brutal massacre of Indian tourists in Pahalgam. FWICE president BN Tiwari stated that the country's interests should be discussed and that the artists do not seem to care about them.

FWICE is planning to meet with ministers in Delhi this month to discuss these issues further. Dubey stated that FWICE will meet with government representatives in Delhi on the 18th to discuss these issues.

The rapper Badshah's decision to perform has sparked controversy, and his team hasn't issued a statement yet regarding his upcoming concert. However, the FWICE expects Badshah to uphold national sentiments and directives and has requested a prompt response to determine further action.
