Russian pop diva Alla Pugacheva stirred a storm with her Victory Day message, getting critics all riled up.
In a seemingly innocent post, Alla Pugacheva reminisced about the war heroes no longer with us and the living. But her message missed the mark, causing a second wave of public outrage against the singer.
People pounced on this, storming the singer with criticisms like, "This is not a day of mourning, it's Victory Day! Our grandfathers and great-grandfathers celebrated the Victory!", "She turned everything upside down", "May 9th is a holiday!" and "Celebrate the Great Victory Day!"
Alla Borisovna, always a quiet kitten in the face of public opinion, stayed silent on the whole ordeal. Maybe she was busy spending time with her loved ones.
Just the day prior, she had attended a concert by her daughter, Kristina Orbakaite, in Limassol. During the show, the younger Orbakaite addressed the audience and acknowledged the presence of her mother amid them, saying, "I envy you! You are her neighbors."

Towards the end of the show, Pugacheva herself took the stage for a rendition of the song "Alla will sing". To everyone's surprise, Orbakaite knelt before her mother, presenting her with a bouquet as the twins Lisa and Harry stood by the 76-year-old legend.
But Alla Borisovna refused to steal the limelight, handing off the microphone to her daughter and rephrasing the song text to say, "Kristina will sing!" On Orbakaite's invitation to join her on stage, the elder Pugacheva politely declined and retreated backstage.
