Controversial Musical Mr. Engineer Premieres in Lisbon on April Fools' Day

A new musical titled Mr. Engineer has opened in Portugal with its premiere on 1 April. The production launched at Lisbon's Teatro Tivoli, marking the start of a six-week run. A former prime minister was among the guests invited to the opening night.

The show's debut took place on April Fools' Day, though organisers have not linked the timing to any playful intent. After its Lisbon performances, the production will move to Porto's Coliseu for additional shows.

As of now, no public statements or reactions from audiences have been shared since the premiere. The musical's content has been described as controversial, but no further details have been released.

The production will remain at Teatro Tivoli for a month and a half before transferring to Porto. Tickets are available for the Lisbon and Porto performances, though audience responses have yet to be reported.
