In the heart of Germany, the ongoing Corona crisis has sparked a significant debate in Düsseldorf, with the Tierschutz Free Voters faction calling for the resignation of Mayor Thomas Geisel.

The focus of the criticism revolves around Mayor Geisel's approach to the crisis, with voices within the Free Voters faction claiming that he has prioritised economic concerns over the protection of residents. Torsten Lemmer, the managing director of the Tierschutz Free Voters, has suggested that the mayor's actions during the crisis may have disqualified him from his position.

The Tierschutz Free Voters' stance has added fuel to the criticism faced by Mayor Geisel. The faction has urged citizens to express their opinions about his stance in the crisis by phone at 9030642 or email at redaktion@unsere Webseite.

CDU faction leader Rolf Tups, on the other hand, advocates for the measures taken to contain the virus to take effect. He finds it irresponsible for Mayor Geisel to give the impression that the situation is harmless. Olaf Lehne, another CDU member, criticises the mayor for publishing a guest article that further stokes fears and divides generations.

Lehne instead proposes that instead of stoking fears, Mayor Geisel should give citizens courage and signal unity in overcoming the crisis. The counter-approach to the nationwide procedure for dealing with the virus has led to swift and harsh criticism.

As the crisis continues, maintaining the stability of the healthcare system remains paramount. All Düsseldorf residents are encouraged to strictly adhere to the rules. The ongoing debate serves as a reminder of the importance of unity and effective leadership in navigating the challenges posed by the Corona crisis.
